Mochlos is a small unspoilt fishing village with a quiet bay, harbor area, charming waterfront tavernas and small rocky beaches. There is a simple village shop and several souvenir shops, all open during the summer months. Directly opposite the village is the island of Mochlos, which has an archaeological site of an ancient Minoan settlement. Boat trips are available for short visits to the island. The town of Ierapetra offers all major amenities such as supermarkets, banks and medical facilities and is reachable within 30 minutes by car. Heraklion International Airport is approximately 90 minutes away by car.
