Mochlos is a small unspoilt fishing village with a quiet bay, a harbour area, delightful waterfront tavernas and small rocky beaches. There is a basic village shop and several souvenir shops, all of which are open during the summer months. Directly opposite the village is the island of Mochlos, which is home to an archaeological site of an ancient Minoan settlement. Boat trips are available for short visits to the island. The town of Ierapetra offers all essential amenities including supermarkets, banks and medical facilities and is within a 30 minute drive.
