Kritsa is a fine example of a typical traditional Cretan village and a popular destination for visitors. Kritsa is located inland from Lasithi, approximately 11 km from the cosmopolitan town of Agios Nikolaos. It offers an elevated position and wonderful views of the mountains, valley and in some cases the sea. There are a variety of colorful shops selling traditional crafts and souvenirs, as well as a wide range of kafenia, taverns, bars and shops selling local products. There is also a bank, a doctor's office and schools. The village is easily accessible by public transport and offers a regular bus service to and from Agios Nikolaos. The nearest beach is 10 km away.
