Milatos is a very picturesque village in northeast Crete with a mountain range in the background and the blue sea stretching out in front. With seafood restaurants, taverns and other small shops, it is a low-key tourist area and a popular weekend getaway for Heraklion city dwellers.
In the coastal part of Milatos there is a fishing port and a beautiful small sandy beach. There are other (pebble) beaches nearby.The town of Neapolis, which offers numerous shops and amenities, is approximately 30 minutes away.

Milatos is a small, charming fishing village, about 12 km from the popular summer resort of Malia. There are restaurants, cafes and shops in the village, and more facilities in the nearby resort of Sissi. The old village of Milatos is located on the north coast of Lasithi about 1,5 km inland and consists of old traditional stone houses, churches, a small shop and some kafenia. There are wonderful views of the sea here. About 3 km from the old village is the famous Milatos Cave, which is well worth a visit.
