Agios Nikolaos is the capital of Lasithi County and is located on Mirabello Bay in northeast Crete, just 40 minutes from Heraklion International Airport.
Geographically, the city is well protected from strong winds, which allows water sports and swimming almost all year round.
Although Agios Nikolaos has less than 20.000 inhabitants, it has several banks, supermarkets, all kinds of shops, doctors, a modern high standard hospital, a public swimming pool and tennis courts, a marina, a port, a cinema, a theater, gyms, etc. 9 -hole golf course, schools from kindergarten to 6 grade high school and generally all the amenities you would expect in a modern European city.
The microclimate is one of the best in Greece and the temperate temperatures rarely exceed 30°C in summer or fall below 15°C in winter. This wonderful dry climate along with the natural beauty of the area has attracted most of Greece's first class hotels to come here to work.
