Kapariana is a small village east of Mires in southern Crete in the Messara plain. The name comes from the word "kaparós", which means light or blond hair. In the village you can see the church of Agios Myrona and just outside the church of Agios Markos. Kapariana is a fast-growing suburb of the town of Mires. Most of the residents moved from mountain villages to find work, who then settled permanently in the settlement. On the main street you will find all kinds of shops, from car repair shops to pizzerias and cafes.
