Located on a small natural bay on the Akrotiri peninsula, Kalathas has one of the best sandy beaches in the region with clear, shallow waters. Although the beach is very popular in summer, Kalathas still remains a quiet area and an ideal place to relax and unwind by the sea. In Kounoupidiana, just 2 minutes drive away, there are a few cafes, tavernas and mini markets with all amenities including large supermarkets, banks and a post office. The historic town of Chania and the airport are just 12 minutes drive away.
