Agia Paraskevi has two churches and a number of houses scattered haphazardly over a wide area of the hill bordered by rocky cliffs and olive groves sloping down to the sea. All houses are built in the traditional style of local stone and wood with terracotta roofs, but all are of different shapes and sizes and have their own character based on the location of the place and the vision of their individual owners. Apart from the occasional car passing by, Agia Paraskevi is surprisingly peaceful and during the day you can clearly hear the tinkling of goat bells on the hillside a kilometer away. Tucked away on the south coast between Agia Galini and Moni Preveli and a good 2 hour drive from Chania Airport, the tiny hamlet of Agia Paraskevi sits high on a hillside overlooking the Libyan Sea.
